Slowly but surely we are making some nice changes at Nevada Sunset Winery. Upon visiting you will find our winery and tasting room to be spacious and comfortable while maintaining the Brewery District vibe. We encourage you check out Reno’s only winery and enjoy a unique and personalized tasting experience. Wines available by the glass or bottle, wine tasting flights, barrel tastings, house-made wine cocktails and more.
Nevada Sunset Winery is also a great place for your next event. Whether you are renting a private room or the entire winery, we offer a customizable, affordable event space fantastic for everything from graduation celebrations to bachelorette parties to networking gatherings. Upcoming special events at the winery include the next edition of the Brewery District’s Tour de Brews on May 11 from 2-6:30pm. Themed, “Tour de Grads,” we hope to see lots of the Wolfpack family in attendance. The following weekend, on May 18, Nevada Sunset Winery along with Black Rabbit Mead Co. and Lead Dog Brewery will host the Son and Daughters of Erin’s Celtic Fear. A very charming event celebrating the proud, and vast Celtic culture. Both events will certainly have some tasty beverages to imbibe with. We hope to see you then!
A little more about Nevada Sunset Winery:
Kate Boyle MacDonald and Craig MacDonald are the new owners after purchasing the winery from founders Mike Steedman and Alynn Delisle. Both Mike and Alynn worked hard to enact the change necessary to allow for wine production to begin in both Washoe and Clark Counties. As a result, Nevada Sunset Winery was the first wine production facility in Washoe County and Kate and Craig are excited and honored to continue to make and offer wonderful wines in Reno.
With over 25 years of vineyard farming and winemaking experience, Kate Boyle MacDonald brings a wealth of knowledge to the up and coming Brewery District in Downtown Reno. Her winemaking roots began in the charming town of Murphys, California, where her and husband Craig still own and operate Boyle MacDonald Wines. From humble beginnings as an apprentice/cellar hand in 1999 to a now seasoned Winemaker, Kate’s talents have always been obvious. With a strong work ethic and a woman’s patience, she demonstrated excellent winemaking instincts and a remarkable palate, and was quickly acknowledged by her peers and allowed to thrive in Calaveras County. Additionally, Kate personally planted and has tended the family estate vineyard in Napa Valley over the last 20 years, ever increasing her winemaking knowledge while guaranteeing herself access to world class Cabernets to accompany the wonderful fruit of the Sierra Foothills.
Kate and Craig are incredibly enthusiastic about making Reno their new family home and hope to add to this wonderful city’s ever growing list of producers, artist, and lifestyle enthusiast.
